Not but an hour away from the Canadian border is the small resort town in the Rocky Mountains of northwest Montana called, Whitefish. Named as one of the ‘Top 25 Ski Towns in the World’ by National Geographic it is also home to more than 7,000 residences. As the area has grown so has local community church, Christ Lutheran Church. However, in recent years it became quite apparent that the prior facility was no longer large enough to handle the growing congregation and its needs. It was time to build a new facility. The first phase of the new church was completed in 2008, which included a large multi-purpose room, kitchen, offices, and classrooms, but the phase two sanctuary was delayed until 2016.
Local general contractor, Eisenhart Builders, was hired on to manage the construction of the new 9,500 sq ft facility. However, when it came time to do the AV design and installation, Eisenhart Builders reached out to AV expert and consultant as well as church member, Jerry Slatter.
Prior to the new sanctuary, the church worshiped in the multi-purpose room, and used a low-lumen level projector during services and other functions. Upon reviewing the design plans for the new sanctuary Jerry knew that LED would be a perfect solution, especially due to the amount of ambient light that would be coming through the multiple windows. “After reviewing several major LED brands, the Absen N4 stood out as the best solution due to its price point and resolution,” said Slatter, owner of River Avenue Enterprises. The new sanctuary and alter area, which faces a semi-circular seating area, provided two large walls that were perfect to mount the 7.5’ x 13.5’ video walls. “Everyone in the congregation as well as church staff have been simply thrilled by the video wall’s brightness and image quality. They love it!” said Slatter.
